Labeling Clothes and Bags
Please make sure that all your child’s clothes and bags are clearly labelled. We have a large collection of unclaimed clothes in the porch. Please have a look through the box if you think you may have lost something. We try very hard to keep track of all the children’s belongings but this can be difficult on a busy day particularly if a lot of children have played in the river.
Toys
If your child wants to bring a toy or comforter into nursery this is fine. However we would like them to only bring in one thing rather than an armful! We ask the children to keep their toys in their bags or on the shelf in the entrance hall when they are not playing with them. Occasionally a toy will go missing so please do not let them bring anything very precious.
Pre school sessions will begin on 6th September and are for all children who will be starting school in September 2011. The sessions give us the opportunity to give children more intensive support and focus on specific areas. We have planned meetings for parents of children in pre school for Thursday 30th September. At the meeting we will talk to you about some of the activities the children will be doing in pre school sessions and things you could do at home to support your child’s learning. We will hold one meeting at 2pm and another at 6:30pm. We hope that you will be able to come along to one of these. Please let Andrew, Emma or Denise know your preferred time.
Staff News
Kim will now be the keyworker for any child that was in Pauline’s group. She knows the children well and has been their temporary key worker through July and August.
We would like to welcome
The cost of a holiday session will be £10 from September. The price of a holiday session has not risen since 2003. Please pay for holiday sessions on the day you take them and put £10 in an envelope with the date, your child’s name and name of the child you are buying the session from clearly marked.
Thank you
Thank you for your support during the last month. It was a difficult time for all members of staff as we are a very close team and Pauline will be greatly missed. You have raised over a hundred pounds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. I will put the final amount raised on the board once it is counted.
