Newsletter June 2010

What we want to be when we grow up

Each year we ask parents if they are able to come in and talk to the children about their profession. If you have a job that you think the children would like to hear about then talk to Denise or Pauline who will be able to give you more information.

Tesco Vouchers

Thank you for the vouchers you have you have been bringing in. Although Tesco are no longer giving out vouchers we are still collecting so if you have any more at home we would really appreciate them. We would like to buy some more outdoor play equipment with the vouchers.

Starting School

Please let us know the expected leaving date for your child and requests for sessions in September and October when your child starts school (use the tear-off slip on last month’s newsletter or write us a note).

Parking & Driving

Thank you for passing on the message about not parking in the drive, it has definitely made a difference. We have still had some complaints about parents parking on the pavement directly outside the gate. Please park with consideration for our neighbours and others who use the nursery. We are very concerned that some people drive much too fast along the road to nursery and occasionally use mobile phones while driving. With so many children around, particularly in the morning as they go to school and nursery, an accident could easily happen.  The police have been known to observe driving standards along this road.

Sunscreen, hats and labels

The garden is very sunny and gets very hot. Please remember to put sunscreen on your child before bringing them into nursery. We will reapply more through the day.  Please could you send your child in a hat which is labelled.  The children have a lovely time in the river in warm weather but getting dressed again is much easier if all clothes are labelled.  A label on a bag is also necessary as quite a few children have the same bag.

Nursery Outing

Each year we have a nursery outing for children and parents. The annual nursery outing will take place on Sunday 18th July. We will send more details of venue and ticket price soon but please keep that day free if you would like to come along.
