Nursery Education Grants

Children are entitled to the Nursery Education Grant from the term after their 3rd birthday, until they start school. The grant is for £1,577 per year and is payable for up to 5 sessions per week, this equates to a reduction in nursery fees of approximately £26.97 per month, per session.

The amount you are entitled to is depended on the number of sessions your child attends this nursery and any other nursery/pre-school provider. It is up to you where and how you claim your grant entitlement.

If you wish to claim from more than one provider the total grant will be shared pro-rata between providers, unless you state clearly your preference as to which provider you wish to claim the grant from.

You will be given each term a Parents Declaration Form, which is supplied by North Somerset Council, please on receiving the form, complete it as soon as possible and return it to Golden Valley House Day Nursery to enable us to make the claim on your behalf. Should you have any problems with the form or understanding the Grant protocol please speak to Angela or Claire.

Your Grant entitlement will be deducted from invoice and is usually spread over 4 months.  This means that from the term after your child is three they will be entitled to the Nursery Educational Grant until the July they start school. Providing the funding is not withdrawn by the Government!
