About Us
Golden Valley House Day Nursery opened in June 1990. Our aim at the Nursery is to create a relaxed, loving and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can learn and develop to their full potential, this was taken into consideration when the Nursery was first designed giving  the children the choice of 3 playrooms and a secure garden, each set out for a particular purpose.

Within this area the children can paint, play with sand, play dough, and be creative by cutting, sticking and junk modelling. Activities are provided to highlight specific learning, for individual children in all play areas.

The Quiet Room

This room is used primarily by the pre-school children and is structured to their needs, with books, puzzles, drawing, matching games, and to encourage pre-writing skills.

Playroom

Here the children are encouraged to use their imagination and have numerous ways of doing this -: The home corner, dressing up, playing with the train set, cars, garage, farm yard, construction toys and books.

Children have outdoor play along side the other rooms, wet sand large chalk board, gardening, mini beasts hunt, large bricks, books and much more. 80% of the foundation stage curriculum can be achieved outdoors with good planning.

The Nursery Staff are predominately full time and qualified. The Nursery can accommodate up to 30 children per session between the age of 2 and 5, with a staff ratio of 1 to 5, dependent on age.

Children can attend full or part-time. Parents and children can visit the Nursery as often as they wish prior to them starting nursery. Most children visit for approximately 4 weeks with mum or dad for which there is no charge. The aim is to help the child settle into Nursery as smoothly as possible. In order that a relationship can be built up between the children and staff, the children are with the same Key Worker each time they attend Nursery.

Whilst at Golden Valley, each child has a folder, which is used to record and monitor individual children’s progress, ensuring that they are given the right conditions to develop to their full potential. Thus benefiting fully from their time spent at Nursery. The folder is available for parents to see at any time – and will be yours to keep when your child leaves nursery.
